I put my little one to sleep in teh swing around 1 month. It depends on what swing you have. I have the papasan one that is like a cradle. If you only have one that sits straight up I’d say no, as he won’t be able to hold his head up. And just make sure you strap him in!

My babies would fall asleep in the swing all the time, it was really a God send, as the first one had colic most her first 9 months and you can only hold them for so long. Mine had a canvas back and she was in a sitting position her head would tilt to right or left and she would be snoozing away. The minute I would take her out she would start crying again it was a tough 9 months !

I’d like to hope so. My daughter (20 now) slept in one for almost two years.

I’d say it’s ok. Just don’t make it a habit. My son slept in a swing a few times. And like the previous person said, make sure it isn’t one that sits straight up.

the swing was our babysitter, honestly, that was the only thing that made our son content. It fine, if he is comfortable than thats all that matters.

Absolutely! And don’t worry about it becoming a habit, babies grow out of those swings because they very soon are too big, plus they would only want to crawl/climb out of it.

You could always try a sling as well. A good one is the Baby Bjorn for younger babies and the EcoBaby for older ones.

my oldest LOVED her swing, and slept in it many times. As long as it dosnt sit straight up and the baby is buckled it, you should be ok. I did it with my oldest, when I could get her to take a nap in her swing, I would doze a little on the couch. All was ok!

Ususally, as the previous posters said, as long as it’s at enough of an angle to let his airway to stay open. Most swings are adjustable. We used a bouncer seat and swing all the time for my daughter, around 3 weeks we’d move her to her crib in the bouncer seat, so she was there when she woke up, and she’s been sleeping through the night in her crib since she was 7 weeks old. But there was a time when we moved the swing to her bedroom and let her sleep in it all night, lol. It works great! Good luck!

yep. my daughter had acid reflux & slept in a swing or bouncer for 4 months per drs orders. Those things saved my sanity too b/c if I needed a nap or shower or to jsut get something done I would put her in there for a little while & she was great. Dont feel guilty about it, you have to take care of yourself in order to be the best to take care of him! & spending time in other places is good for him too.

Sure. If it wasn’t for the swing, I would have slept on the couch with my son til he was 6mo. The first night he fell asleep in his swing and stayed asleep for 2 whole hours – it was amazing!!! And just when I thought I’d never get to sleep in bed with my husband ever again. lol

i dont see why not, i did it with my daughter all the time. i also used a bouncer as well. and when i needed to take a shower i would take the bouncer into the bathroom while she was sleeping. same with the car seat. and i was a single mother with my daughter. so i learned all kinds of tricks to get things done while she was a new born. once they start getting mobile is when things get hectic. especially once they start crawling and walking.
but i dont see why letting him sleep in the swing would be a problem.
